Thank you Mr. Vice President,
副理事長ありがとうございます。
UN Special Rapporteur Mr. David Kaye’s report on Freedom of press in Japan is biased.
国連特別報告者であるデイヴィッド・ケイ氏の日本の報道の自由に関する報告は偏っています。
First, he met certain groups guided by biased activist in Japan with an extreme ideology.
まず、彼は偏っている極端な思想を持った活動家によって、日本のいくつかの組織と会見しました。
Second, he asserts the Japanese government exerts undue influence on journalists, this is false.
２つ目に、日本政府がジャーナリストに対して、不当な圧力（影響）を与えていると言っていますがこれは間違っています。
Example he cited gives completely different viewpoints and no credible examples of government pressure have been documented.
彼が引用した例は、全く視点が違っており、信頼に足る政府による圧力の証拠は記録されていません。
Many of those who he met in Japan said after he left;
“Oh, I pretended that there are pressures from the government although I’ve never experienced.” “I’ve heard of it.”
彼が日本で会った人たちは、彼が日本を出た後に
「日本政府から圧力があるよな振りをしたが、圧力を受けた経験は無い」「そんな話を聞いたことがある」と言っていました。
Third, the Secrets Act, he reports, was enacted for national security reasons which does not in any way infringe on legitimate freedom of expression.
３つ目に、彼が報告した特定秘密保護法に関しては、国家の安全保障問題であり、合法的な表現の自由を侵害するものではありません。
Fourth, print media in Japan is under no restrictions whatsoever.
４番目に印刷物のマスコミに関しては、一切の制限がありません。
Broadcast media is, however, asked to abide by the Broadcast Law.
報道に関しては、放送法を遵守するように求めています。
Pressure on Japanese journalists is exerted by different special interest groups and foreign countries, as well as other journalists with opposing views.
ジャーナリストに過度の圧力をかけているとしていますが、これは誤りであり、特別な利益を得る組織や外国、反対の意見を持つジャーナリストによって作られたものです。
In a free and open society, such free and open discussion should be welcomed.
自由で開かれた社会では、このような自由で開かれた対話は歓迎されるべきです。
Mr. Vice President and council members, Mr. Kaye’s report which relies too much on biased allegations is a blot on the reputation of the UN and should be rejected, please send him again to Japan to investigate properly.
副理事長と理事会のメンバーの皆さん、ケイ氏の報告書は、偏向した情報に頼っており、国連の評価を落とすことになりますので、却下されるべきです。再度彼を日本に送り、正確な調査を行って下さい。
